First thing I googled when it happened. Made no difference. In fact moving it just repeats the problem elsewhere. If a folder says it contains the exe without the exe present, then moving the exe into that folder suddenly makes it flagged as "Not being present". Copying the exe to multiple locations also just flags all of those locations as not having it, even if they said they had it without the exe.
Well, sorry man not sure. It should be working, do you use NMM for other games? Also, if you get fed up you can just manually install the mods. Yea, use it for everything else I have that's supported.

Moral of the story: NMM -will- corrupt your game! Don't try to pair it with XCom 2 unless you want to be forced to completely reinstall the game!
